Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With launch weeks away, leaks about its size, frame rate and PC version are everywhere. This guide separates what is confirmed from what is still rumor, so you know how to prepare.

GTA 6 file size: how much storage do you need?

A leaked PlayStation listing reportedly puts GTA 6 at around 210GB on PS5. That is enormous for a game that is single-player at launch. If accurate, it would take up a big chunk of a standard PS5's usable storage, so many players will need to delete games or add an expansion SSD before pre-loading.

Rockstar's support pages say both digital and physical editions can pre-load from local midnight on November 12. The physical edition reportedly ships as a download code rather than a full disc, so everyone will be downloading the game either way.

Will GTA 6 have a performance mode?

Rockstar has suggested the console versions target 30fps. However, analysis of older leaked development builds shows references to a fidelity mode and a performance mode, with one image listing a 1440p to 2160p resolution for fidelity. Fans have speculated that a performance mode could run between 40 and 60fps.

Nothing about a performance mode is confirmed. The safest expectation is 30fps at launch, with anything more as a bonus.

When is GTA 6 coming to PC?

There is no official PC date. GamesBeat, citing four anonymous industry sources, reports the PC version could launch in the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar did not comment. Historically, Rockstar has released PC versions of its games well after the console launch, so a delay would fit its pattern.

The CyberLeek leaks explained

Throughout 2026, an account called CyberLeek published unauthorized GTA 6 gameplay videos. In October, it threatened to release a full 200GB+ playable build if a linked memecoin reached a $30 million market cap. The coin missed that target, and the leaker later said they would not release the build, while claiming to hold story spoilers. Take-Two has pursued subpoenas against Discord as part of its investigation.

Our advice: avoid downloading anything claiming to be a leaked GTA 6 build. Files like these are a common way to spread malware.
