NVIDIA is bringing DLSS 5 to three more games this month. Hogwarts Legacy gets it first on November 5, War Thunder follows in mid-November, and Where Winds Meet arrives on November 23, according to NVIDIA's announcement as reported by TechPowerUp. The company also says its October 2026 DLSS 5 model is smaller and about twice as fast as the first version.

What is DLSS 5 neural rendering?

NVIDIA calls it 3D-Guided Neural Rendering. It runs as a final stage after the game draws a frame, using the frame, geometry, textures and lighting data to add more realistic lighting, shadows and material detail with AI. Developers get controls for intensity, different AI models and masking so the art direction is preserved.

How much faster is the new DLSS 5 model?

NVIDIA says the October 2026 model is 24% smaller at roughly 118 million parameters, uses 20% less VRAM at 4K and delivers up to 2X higher performance than the previous version. It says this brought DLSS 5 from its first dual RTX 5090 setup to a single graphics card. These numbers come from NVIDIA, with maximum settings, so wait for independent reviews before buying hardware for them.

Do you need an RTX 5090?
