Crimson Desert's Charting the Unknown expansion added the Garden of Trials, a boss-rush arena where you fight bosses you already beat, three at a time. It has 10 trials, 30 bosses and a lightsaber-style reward at the end. Here is how to unlock it and what each trial gives you.

Quick summary

How do you unlock the Garden of Trials in Crimson Desert?

Pearl Abyss says the Garden of Trials opens after you clear the main questline. Guides report the faction quest "Garden of Trials: At the Threshold of a New Ordeal" starts it. Fast travel to the Axiom Archive in the Abyss, speak to the White Crow, then interact with any cube to pick a trial. If you are still working through the expansion, see our ships, ocean and marriage unlock guide.

How does the Garden of Trials work?

Each trial is a pedestal holding three frozen bosses from earlier in the game. You fight them back to back. You can enter alone or bring up to three heroes in a chosen order; when one falls, the next steps in. Food cannot be used to heal, so potions, pills and defensive gear matter more than usual.

What do you get for clearing all 10 trials?

Clearing every trial leaves the Lumen Longsword, a two-handed light blade, at the back pillar, and unlocks the achievement "Trial by flower", according to Output Lag. Some groups also drop Abyss Artifacts and Abyss gear.

Is the Garden of Trials worth doing?

If you want cheaper skill costs and the Lumen Longsword, yes. The no-food rule makes it tougher than a normal boss fight, so go in with a defence-heavy build. For the wider expansion, read our Charting the Unknown release and price breakdown.
