Fortnite Crew Changes Dec 5: 1,600 V-Bucks Tiers, Skins End

Epic Games is reworking Fortnite Crew on December 5, 2026. Per Epic's Fortnite blog as reported by gHacks, the base monthly grant goes back up to 1,000 V-Bucks, long-term subscribers can earn up to 1,600, and the monthly Crew skin ends after December. The subscription price stays the same.

Crew paid 1,000 for most of its life before Epic cut it to 800 earlier this year after raising V-Bucks prices. A 12-month subscriber will get double that reduced 800.

How are current and lapsed subscribers placed in tiers?

Epic will assign current subscribers to a bronze, silver or gold tier on December 5 based on how many consecutive months they held in the past year. Lapsed players who resubscribe between December 5 and December 31 start at a tier based on their most recent continuous run over the last 12 months.

What is the new XP bonus?

Subscribers earn 20% more XP than non-subscribers. Non-subscribers still get a 10% bonus when they play on a team with a Crew member, which helps squads level up the Treasure Hunters Battle Pass.

Why does the monthly Crew skin end?

Crew skins were never sold in the Item Shop, so they were a key reason to subscribe. Epic is dropping them after December but will unlock all remaining Legacy Styles for everyone who owns the related cosmetics, subscribed or not. Epic has not said whether past Crew skins will ever reach the shop.

What stays the same?

Is Fortnite Crew worth it now?

Verdict: for players who stay subscribed a year, the new tiers are a clear improvement; for skin collectors, losing the monthly exclusive removes the main hook.
