How much does WoW Forever cost?

If you already pay for WoW or WoW Classic, you do not need to buy anything. Kotaku notes that the only gameplay content behind an extra purchase right now is the new Skyborne race and its starting zone, which comes with the Skyborne Heroic Pack at about $30. Higher-priced bundles add cosmetics and other extras. Without a subscription, you will need one to play.

Can I preload WoW Forever, and how do I install it?

Blizzard has not announced a preload date or download size in the posts we checked, and independent trackers say the same. The Forever client already appears in Battle.net, so you can install it ahead of time. Blizzard's steps: update your graphics drivers, open the Battle.net desktop app, choose World of Warcraft, then pick World of Warcraft: Forever in the Game Version menu above Play and click Install. Name reservation ran October 27 to November 3 for players with an upgrade edition.

What is new in WoW Forever?

Forever is set after Warcraft III Reforged's Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core, across the original continents up to level 60. Blizzard promises more than 1,000 new quests and new zones including Mount Hyjal, Shen'dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle.

Skyborne: a new race, either Horde Windshapers (Shaman) or Alliance High-Order Skyborne (Mages).
New combinations: Orc Mages, Troll Warlocks, Undead Paladins, Human Hunters, Gnome Priests and Dwarf Shamans.
Rulesets, not realms: pick Normal, PvP, Roleplay or Roleplay PvP. Hardcore arrives after launch with no date.
Presets: Classic or Enhanced visuals and interface; Blizzard suggests Enhanced if unsure.
Legacy System and Camping: account-wide horizontal progression and shared campfires with buffs.

Which dungeons and raids are available?

Nine new five-player dungeons arrive at launch, per Kotaku: Hall of Thanes (13-18), Ruins of Lordaeron (16-22), Excavation Site (26-32), City of Dalaran (28-34), The Drowned City (35-40), Krol'Dok Stronghold (40-45), Alcaz Island Prison (48-53), Blackmaw Hold (55-60) and Shaper's Terrace (58-60). Raids open on December 9: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair. A 15v15 Darkspear Islands battleground covers PvP.

Which ruleset and preset should beginners pick?

Kotaku recommends Normal for newcomers: you only fight other players if both opt in. Pick PvP or RP-PvP only if you want constant risk. Start with the Enhanced preset, since you can change individual settings later under Game Menu, Options.
