God of War Laufey has three things to choose between: a Standard Edition at $69.99, a Digital Deluxe Edition at $79.99, and a $149.99 Collector Box that does not contain the game. Pre-orders opened on September 29, 2026, and the release date has since moved from February 16 to May 20, 2027, per the PlayStation Blog. This guide explains what each version gives you and which one suits you.

Quick summary

Standard Edition: $69.99, physical or digital, includes the pre-order bonus.
Digital Deluxe Edition: $79.99, digital only, adds the Dark Alchemy set, a mini artbook and the soundtrack.
Deluxe Upgrade: $10, can be applied to either Standard Edition (reported by GamingBible).
Collector Box: $149.99 / €149.99 / £129.99, game sold separately, PlayStation Direct only, limit one per order on the UK page.
Platform: PS5 only so far. No PC version has been announced.

What do you get for pre-ordering God of War Laufey?

Buy any edition before launch and Sony adds three extras: the Last Wish Armor Set, a Golden Leaves look for Faye's companion Phranque (cosmetic only), and an in-game resource pack. The armor and cosmetic unlock through story progress rather than at the start, and physical Standard buyers get them through a download code, which needs an internet connection and a PlayStation account.

What is in the Digital Deluxe Edition?

The Deluxe Edition is the full game plus a Dark Alchemy gear set: armor, a blade, bow scales and a catalyst. It also includes a resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the official digital soundtrack. Like the pre-order armor, the Dark Alchemy pieces unlock via story progression. The pieces map to the three customisation slots Sony has described for Faye: blades, Serpent Bow scales and catalysts.

What is inside the God of War Laufey Collector Box?

Sony lists three items: an eight-inch light-up statue of Faye, Phranque and Rue fighting Begtse's soldiers (Phranque lights up when plugged into USB power), a 51-card Oracle Deck with illustrations by Megan Lara, and a physical mini artbook of concept art. It is sold only direct from PlayStation, in highly limited quantities, while supplies last. The game is not included, so budget at least $219.98 for the box plus the Standard Edition.

Did the delay change the editions?

Santa Monica Studio's delay statement did not mention pre-orders, and the PlayStation Blog now shows the Collector Box on sale May 20, 2027 instead of February 16. Prices and contents listed by Sony have not changed. Our delay report covers the studio's statement in full. If you pre-ordered digitally, check the PlayStation Store terms before cancelling, since charges normally come close to launch.

Which God of War Laufey edition should you buy?

Standard is the sensible default: the same game and the same pre-order gear for $10 less. The Deluxe route suits players who want the soundtrack and extra gear, and because the $10 upgrade exists, you can pre-order Standard now and upgrade later without losing anything. The Collector Box is for collectors only. Keep an eye on GameDrop deals and the launch calendar for price drops before May.
