MW4 DMZ X01 Black Site: Entry, Bosses and Exfil Guide

X01 is the new DMZ location arriving with Modern Warfare 4 Season 1. Activision's official briefing describes a hidden weapons facility on the northern edge of Hajin, seized by North Korean forces. Season 1 goes live at midnight ET on November 6 (2100 PT on November 5), which is 9:30 AM IST on November 6.

What is the X01 black site in MW4 DMZ?

The briefing calls it a previously undiscovered weapons facility. Ground-penetrating radar shows it is fully enclosed, with vertical routes between floors, cargo bays and vehicle depots up top, then underground labs, production lines and the Deep Vault. Activision says the squad is your main edge inside.

How do you get into X01?

Official wording says reconnaissance found an infiltration point that allows deployment through Hajin. In practice that points to entering from the Hajin side of DMZ rather than a separate mode. Activision has not published a level requirement or key item, so check the in-game Orders on launch day.

Who and what is inside X01?

Expect 100 Spirits NK Faction soldiers and specialists, plus "stronger, more brutal" entities patrolling the interior. Activision advises against head-on fights with the faction. New enemies, items and the 3D Printer station are all listed as classified.

Which bosses are tied to X01?

The Boss Board adds two Lieutenants, Tae-Hyun ("Knuckle") and Chol-Min ("The Wrench"), and two Commanders: The Captain, a Juggernaut with his elite guard, and an autonomous patrolling Wheelson. The Threat Briefing event sends you into X01 to fight The Captain and collect pieces of his helmet, with bigger rewards once you exfil. Every squad member gets credit if one of you extracts with a Commander part.

How does extraction work in X01?

The facility "starts to close off extraction points", and you must finish required steps to escape. Activision's advice is to always know where the nearest exfil is. Exact steps have not been revealed.
