World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4, but its endgame comes later. According to Blizzard, level 60 players get nine new five-player dungeons at launch, and three raids, Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair, open on December 9. Here is what is confirmed.

How many dungeons does WoW: Forever have?

Blizzard says there are nine new five-player dungeons for levels 13 through 60, rooted in the original game and spread across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Each comes with new threats and quests. The journey also adds more than 1,000 new quests and zones such as Mount Hyjal, Shen'dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle.

When do the raids open?

Raids are not available on day one. Blizzard's launch post says that on December 9, level 60 players can test themselves in three raids: Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair. That gives roughly five weeks to level up and gear before the first raid doors open. Blizzard also published a separate overview covering what you need to enter Onyxia's Lair; check it for attunement details, which we have not confirmed here. Note that some third-party previews mention two raids, but Blizzard's own post lists three.

Is there PvP at launch?

Yes. The Darkspear Islands, off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh, is a 15 vs 15 battleground where the Darkspear Raiders and Theramore Expeditionary Force fight for strategic footholds and a central flag. Blizzard has also published an explainer on how PvP progression works.

What should you do before December 9?

Choose your preset and ruleset carefully; see our Classic vs Enhanced guide.
Level through the nine dungeons for gear and quests.
Look at the Legacy System, Blizzard's account-wide horizontal progression, which rewards exploring professions and classes rather than raw power.
Use camps: nearby players can add up to three profession-crafted Camp Features that give buffs after a minute.

Verdict
